Privacy policy

This policy describes how the current PhoneticLab tool handles text and visits.

The text you enter

IPA transcription runs in your own browser using dictionary data delivered with the page. The tool does not send your input to a PhoneticLab transcription server, save a history, or require an account. Your current input and result stay in page memory while you use it. Copy IPA writes the visible transcription to your device clipboard when you request it.

Listening is different

Listen passes the original text to your browser's speech synthesis service. Depending on your browser, operating system and selected voice, speech may run on your device or use an online voice provider. That provider may receive the text for playback. We cannot promise that listening always stays offline. Use transcription without Listen if you do not want to invoke your device's speech service.

Hosting and security

PhoneticLab is hosted on Cloudflare. Serving and securing a website involves network information such as an IP address, requested URL and browser information. This is separate from the text typed into the tool. Cloudflare's processing is governed by its own privacy information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The current tool does not add advertising scripts, analytics scripts, tracking cookies, or browser storage for saved results. Hosting or security infrastructure may process technical information independently.

We plan to place third-party advertising on the site in the future. Ads are not installed in this version. Before introducing advertising, we will update this policy to describe the providers, data processing, cookies and any applicable consent choices. This future plan is not a statement that ads are currently running.

Messages you send

If you contact us by email, your address, message and any attachments are processed by the email services used to deliver and receive the message. Please do not include passwords or other sensitive information in a support request.

Changes

This policy will be updated when the site's actual data practices change.
